Microsoft Word 2000 Introduction and Advanced Course

Description:

Microsoft Word is regarded as one of the most up to date word processing programs on the market. The package incorporates a comprehensive range of text handling and printing facilities. This allows the user to produce sophisticated and professional documents with ease.

Suitable for: This course is suitable to personnel who requires a working knowledge of the Microsoft Word.

Duration: 1 Day

Course Objective:

On completing the course delegates will be fully conversant with Microsoft Word. More specifically each participant will be able to:

Create, edit, save and print a document
operate function keys, control keys, use commands and menus

Perform a wide range of word-processing functions e.g. alter text attributes, justify text, use search, replace and spell check functions
format a page using tabs, page breaks etc.
create a table

Understand a computer and manage folders and files

Apply font formats (Bold, Italic and Underline)

Use the Spelling, Grammar and Thesaurus features

Cut, Copy, Paste, and Paste Special using the
Office Clipboard

Select and change font and font size

Find and replace text

Apply character effects
(superscript, subscript, strikethrough, small caps and outline)

Insert date and time, and symbols

Align text in paragraphs (Centre, Left, Right and Justified)

Add bullets and numbering

Set character, line, and paragraph spacing options Use indentation options (Left, Right, First Line and Hanging Indent)

Use TABS command (Centre, Decimal, Left and Right)

Print a document

Set page orientation and margins

Create and modify headers and footers

Prepare and print envelopes and labels

Apply styles

Hyperlinks

Document Map

Create sections with formatting that differs from other sections

Use Save As (different name, location or format)

Create and format tables

Revise tables (insert & delete rows and columns, change cell formats)

Insert graphics into a document (WordArt, ClipArt, Images)


Microsoft Word Advanced

Description:

Word Advanced builds on the above Introduction course and incorporates an advanced range of text handling and printing facilities. This allows the user to produce sophisticated and professional documents with ease.

Suitable for: This course is suitable to personnel who requires a more advanced working knowledge of Word using its sophisticated document manipulation features.

Course Objective:

On completing the course delegates will be fully conversant with Microsoft Word Advanced features. More specifically each participant will be able to:

Apply paragraph and section shading

Use text flow options (Windows/Orphans options and keeping lines together)

Sort lists, paragraphs, tables

Create and modify page borders

Format first page differently than subsequent pages

Use Bookmarks, footnotes and endnotes,
table of contents, cross-reference, an index

Create and edit styles

Work with master documents and subdocuments

Delete and position graphics

Import data into charts

Create a Mail Merge
